Power and telecommunication cables along parts of Oak Bay Avenue and Fort Street were temporarily downed to make way for a massive house move. The heritage property, the original "University School" of St Michaels School, was relocated from 1082 Richmond Road to its new location, 1016 Pemberton.

Crews from Black Horse Contracting had to split the structure in half to accommodate the move which took place from 7 p.m. September 22, 2012, to about 1 p.m. of the 23rd. Many local residents stood by to watch the historic event.

The building is slated for renovation as rental units.

It's not every day you see a massive half-house occupying a major street. Here, the second part of the house begins turning the corner of Fort Street onto Pemberton.

One of the first images made with my new (older now) SIGMA DP1 compact camera. This camera features a unique image sensor that records colors as you see them as opposed to all other cameras' sensors which only see in black and white. It's a complicated process and if you would like more information, just Google SIGMA and check out their FOVEON sensor. I'm perplexed why no other manufacturer doesn't adopt this technology. The benefit of the FOVEON sensor is that it records colors accurately and the tonal range is long so photos look more like how your eyes see. Check here often for more examples

Spring in Victoria is always a joy. This shot was taken on Richmond Street near Richardson.
